How much money will my cell phone make for my Team in Training fund raising?

We know that fund raising this year has been…well…different.  With this economy, it is just a little bit harder to ask your friends and family and neighbors for help.  Yet, you still have to raise your $3700.00 (or similar amount) for your event!

Cells for Cells wants to help YOU achieve your fund raising goals by making our cell phone recycling program available to YOU.

The number one question we are asked is, “How much money will my cell phone make for my TNT fund raising?”

As we discuss in the video, the simple answer is about $1 per cell phone.

The long answer is that it depends on the age, condition, type, carrier and recycling market.  Newer Blackberries, Treos, and smart phones are going to raise a significant amount more than old brick or even common flip phones.  A GSM mobile phone (AT&T, Cingular, TMobile) is going to raise more money than a similar CDMA mobile phone  (Sprint or Verizon).

Cell phones are a commodity that can change value in an instant.  Some popular Nextel models were constantly getting a donation value of $3 or $4, and within 30 days, sank to less than $0.25.

Recently, a box of 257 older, Nextel flip-phones raised $52.62; and a box of 25 older, Blackberries raised about that same amount.

Stay tuned for tips and tools to help you with your TNT fund raising.
