The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Cells for Cells is a strong advocate of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Money raised through Cells for Cells mobile phone recycling programs goes to help families battling cancer.  In Cells for Cells first two year, $20,000 has been raised for cancer treatment costs.  Money goes directly to the Patient Financial Aid Fund of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is used for to provide financial assistance for medicines, drugs, blood screening, transfusion, X-rays, transportation costs, co-pay assistance and cancer treatment costs.

Team in Training

By recycling cell phones, you can raise money for your Team in Training event. With over 130 million cell phones retired each year in the United States alone and only 2% recycled, a cell phone recycling program is an excellent fundraising opportunity to help meet your goals.

Here is how the program works:

1. Sign-up on on our Get Involved page by indicating Team in Training and submitting the form.
2. Within 1-2 days, you will receive a free, prepaid FedEx label via email to be used to ship your collected phones to our facility.
3. Work with local companies, organizations, clubs, groups, schools, friends, family, etc.. to collect as many cell phones as possible.
4. Ship your collected phones to our facility using your prepaid FedEx label we provided.
5. Once we receive your phones, we will evaluate and prepare them for recycling. The amount of donation credit is determined by several factors. Check out this video on our blog with more details about how much money the phones raise for your event.
6. Typically within 45 days (often 15-30 days) of receiving the phones, we will send a check to your local chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with an accounting of the amount of money to be applied to you and your TNT event.
